Okay– I was at the bank last week opening the business account for my company when my buddy (it’s a good thing when your buddy is the branch manager) asked me what I was up to. I began to explain all the numerous things I was working on since the semester ended. He listened, as he typed into his computer all of my business information, he stopped, looked at me and said, “Man, I thought I was busy”.
It’s then I realized that everything that I have been doing is a blur, that’s when I thought to myself, “Damn, I really am busy”. Though I never thought about it… I sometimes get angry at myself when my friends tell me they are going on vacation, they’re traveling and doing other fun thing with their lives and yet I’m here– busy. There’s the scripts, the shorts, the table reading for another feature script I want to put into motion, the CS4 programs I’m still learning and at the same time want to become Apple Certified with Final Cut beginning this Fall and all, that and I want to shoot a short and the small business I started. Not only that, the summer class I teach begins in two weeks.
I guess it’ll all mean something in the end…
For now, vacation is a twelve pack of Coronas and Playstation 3, plus re-watching Battlestar Gallactica on Friday and Saturday nights… Eso es vida…
I have come the conclusion it’s better to be busy and keep your mind on things… busy, busy, busy as a Bokononist would say.
